Danielle Carver
My name is Danielle Carver. I grew up in Prague, Oklahoma where I attended school from Pre-K through twelfth grade. Growing up, I always knew I wanted to be a teacher. I tortured my brother by making him play school with me. I was always the teacher and he was my unruly student. Even though I was mean to my brother when we were kids in our makeshift “classroom,” as I started my career, my goal was for my students to know that I was there to TEACH them, but also for them to know that I was THERE FOR THEM.
I graduated college from Oklahoma State University and obtained a bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education with a concentration in English Language Arts. After college, I moved back to my hometown of Prague. I have two little boys, Ryder and Sloan.
The last fifteen years that I’ve spent teaching have absolutely flown by and I have enjoyed the challenges, rewards, and lives that every year has brought. Although the bulk of my career has been in a traditional, brick and mortar classroom, I am thrilled to be working with students virtually. This is my fifth year working at ESVCA.
Virtual teaching is not something that I would have seen myself doing at the start of my career in education. However, as our society has changed throughout the last few years, this option has been a welcomed change. I believe that there is a great need for this type of learning environment in our society today and feel that it will continue to grow in the years to come. During the last four years as a virtual teacher, I have grown so much professionally and personally. It has challenged me far beyond my comfort zone, pushed me to be better, and made me think beyond what I considered “traditional” education.
I am blessed to be an E-School Eagle!
