Melissa Thomas
My name is Melissa Thomas. I am a certified elementary and early childhood teacher in Oklahoma. I was born, raised, and educated in Oklahoma. I attended a small rural school in northeast Oklahoma from kindergarten through 12th grade. I attended The University of Oklahoma and The University of Central Oklahoma to earn my Bachelor of Science in Education. I chose teaching as a profession because of some of the inspiring and encouraging teachers I had throughout my years at Chouteau Public Schools, specifically my 1st grade teacher, as well as my high school English, Business, and Science teachers. I have been teaching students for over 23 years, from Preschool aged to 6th grade, as well as ELA students in China from ages 4 to 15. Virtual teaching is a great fit for me and my husband, who is also a virtual educator. We love to travel and plan to take our students with us digitally all across America, and eventually the world. It’s an exciting time in virtual education and I’m pleased to be a part of this experience. With my love for travel and love for providing unique learning experiences for my students, virtual education is an easy choice.
