I was born, raised in Carrollton, Texas. I attended Evangel University in Springfield, Missouri and graduated with a Bachelor’s in Education. This will be my 8th year teaching; I have taught 8th grade U.S. History, Kindergarten, 3rd grade, and now am in my second year of teaching elementary math intervention. My husband’s football coaching career led us to move to Oklahoma 6 years ago, and we currently live in Guthrie.
I chose education because I’ve always loved to learn. I knew lifelong learning was something I wanted to be a part of and that teaching was something I could always be improving upon and learning from myself. I also knew it would give me an opportunity to pour into students’ lives the way so many past teachers of mine poured into me.
I chose virtual teaching because of the freedom and flexibility it offers that brick and mortar cannot, along with the opportunities available for both virtual teachers and students. My husband and I are looking forward to starting a family and are excited about the ability for me to stay home and teach during that time.
